GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ON-AIR CONTESTS

Application: 

These rules and regulations shall apply to all on-air contests (the “Contest”) unless stipulated otherwise, and where alternate rules and regulations are made available to the public. If there are any discrepancies between these rules and regulations and any other rules and regulations posted for any particular Contest (the “Alternate Rules”), such discrepancy shall be resolved in favour of the Alternate Rules.

Eligibility:

The Contest is open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in the province in which they reside. No person who is employed by the JPBGLP or its affiliate companies, and no family member of such employee shall be entitled to enter the Contest.

In certain cases, minors under the age of majority will be permitted to enter the Contest and be eligible to win the prize. In no case, however will a minor be declared a winner without the prior written consent and release of liability of the minor’s parent or legal guardian.

How to Enter

There is no purchase necessary to enter the Contest.

Upon hearing the cue-to-call, callers being the correct caller through (i.e. the 13th caller) will be asked to answer a trivia question or perform another task as described by the on-air host. If the caller correctly answers the question or performs the task, he will be declared a potential winner. If the caller fails to answer the question correctly or to perform the task, the next caller will be given the opportunity to answer or to compete the task. If no caller has correctly answered the question or completed the task, JPBGLP reserves the right to modify the contest to enable a potential winner to be determined or to carry the prize over to a subsequent time or contest.

Upon being declared a potential winner, the caller will be required to answer, unaided a time-limited mathematical skill testing question. Upon correctly answering that question, the potential winner will be declared the winner.

Callers shall be responsible for all long-distance charges or other fees associated with entering the Contest.

Value

No Prize may be exchanged for cash, sold or transferred to any third party.

Odds of Winning

The odds of winning the Contest are dependant on the number of callers attempting to enter the Contest at any given time.

Liability

The winner acknowledges that the collection or use of the prize may be inherently dangerous and agrees to release and hold harmless the JPBGLP for any and all damages he may incur through entering the Contest or through the collection or use of the prize. The winner also agrees to sign a standard release and waiver of liability prior to claiming the prize which will generally be provided.

Each entrant and any potential or declared winner releases the JPBGLP, their subsidiaries, respective divisions, their parent corporations, their advertising and promotional agencies, their shareholders, officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives (hereinafter the “Beneficiaries”) from any and all liability for any and all damage, loss or liability suffered as a result of or arising from the entrant’s participation in the contest or the acceptance or use of his/her prize.  In order to be declared a winner and prior to obtaining his/her prize, any potential or declared winner agrees to sign a declaration to such effect in the release form.  The guest of a winner (or a parent or legal guardian in the case of a minor) will also have to sign such a declaration to that effect in the release form, failing which they will not be able to take part in the prize.

Release of Privacy Rights

By entering this contest, each declared winner consents to the contest organizers, their representatives to use, at their sole discretion and if required, their name, photograph, likeness, testimonial related to the prize, place of residence and/or voice without compensation whatsoever and that, without limit as for the period of use, in any media and on a worldwide scale, for publicity purposes or for any purpose that may be considered relevant.

General

Prize winners shall be responsible for all costs and expenses not explicitly stated to form part of the prize, including but not limited to taxes, fees, gratuities, insurance, or travel to and from the airport where a prize includes travel.

Where the Prize includes travel, the Prize winner must ensure that he and his companion have all the necessary travel documents required to travel to the destination on the dates specified in the prize description.

Prior to receiving the Prize, the Prize winner shall sign a standard release and liability waiver absolving the JPBGLP of all its obligations under the Contest and accepting the Prize as awarded as full and final satisfaction of all items owed to him by the JPBGLP.

Participants cannot win more than one prize valued at $50 CAD or more within 30 days of a given contest.

The JPBGLP may at its sole discretion substitute a prize or a portion thereof with an alternate prize of equal or greater value. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the JPBGLP shall not be responsible to substitute a prize or portion thereof where such Prize can not be redeemed due to factors beyond its reasonable control.

In the event it is impossible, difficult and/or more costly for the JPBGLP to award a prize (or part of a prize) as described in these contest rules, the contest organizers reserve the right to award a prize (or part of a prize) of similar nature and equivalent value or, at their sole discretion, the value of the prize (or of the part of the prize) in cash.

The JPBGLP reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this contest, in whole or in part, in the case of the occurrence of an event, an error or any human intervention that could corrupt or affect the administration, safety, impartiality or the running of the contest as provided in these contest rules.

All decisions of the JPBGLP or those of their representatives regarding this contest are final and binding.

The winner also agrees to abide by the rules and regulations for pick up which can be found at www.1067thedrive.fm.

By entering the Contest, all persons are deemed to have read and to have accepted these rules and regulations.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR KASH & CARRY CONTEST

 

Application:

These rules and regulations shall apply to all on-air contests (specifically Kash & Carry) and its partners (101.5 KooL FM, Chinook Centre; a division of Cadillac Fairview Corporation, and Southpointe Toyota Scion)

Eligibility:

The Contest is open to legal residents of Calgary, AB Canada who have reached the age of majority (18 years). No person who is employed by the JPBGLP or its affiliate companies, and no family member of such employee shall be entitled to enter the Contest.

How to Enter

There is no purchase necessary to enter the Contest.

Upon hearing the cue-to-call, callers being the correct caller through (i.e. the 10th caller at 403-225-1015) will qualify for a spot in the contest by the on-air host(s).

Callers shall be responsible for all long-distance charges or other fees associated with entering the Contest.

Odds of Winning

The odds of winning the Contest are dependant on the number of callers attempting to enter the Contest at any given time.

Contest Execution

Listeners who qualify on-air will be the only individuals eligible to partake in the contest event on October 28th, 2014.

 

There will be an opportunity for individuals to ballot for an additional spot in the contest on October 28th at Chinook Centre from 5:00pm MST – 6:45pm MST. Only those who have not won a spot already can enter for this additional spot.

 

Once qualified to partake in the Contest, There will be two portions of the Event on October 28th, 2014 at Chinook Centre:

 

The Handbag Distribution: Starting at 7:00 p.m. MST, all the registered qualifiers names will be placed in a draw box. A corresponding number of handbags will be displayed. The registered qualifiers names will be drawn one-by-one. When a registered qualifier’s name is drawn, they may either chose a handbag or take another registered qualifier’s already chosen handbag. If someone’s handbag is taken, the registered qualifier’s whose handbag was taken may then choose another handbag from the display handbags only. Such registered qualifier’s winner may not take someone else’s handbag. The registered qualifier whose name was the first name drawn will not be eligible to take anyone’s handbag as no one else will have selected a handbag at this time. Only at the very end of the handbag distribution, once everyone has a handbag and all the names of the registered qualifiers have been drawn, will the handbags be officially deemed the property of the qualifiers. If anyone is caught cheating, disrupting the Contest, risking the safety of another contestant or KooL employee, or attempting to remove a handbag from the designated Contest area before the end of the Contest, they will be disqualified and no longer eligible to receive a handbag or be eligible for the Grand Prizes.

 

The Grand Prize Draws: Before 7:00 p.m. MST, an envelope with a number will be placed in each handbag. Five of these numbers will be pre-selected randomly by one member of the 101.5 KooL FM staff and placed in a separate envelope. After the Handbag Distribution ends, qualifiers will be permitted to open their envelope and view their number. The KooL staff will open the envelopes containing the Grand Prize numbers and the registered qualifiers with the corresponding numbers will be eligible to receive a Grand Prize. One member of the KooL staff will be aware of which handbags contain the Grand Prize winning numbers and will ensure these bags are placed on display at the beginning of the handbag distribution.

 

Value

No Prize may be exchanged for cash, sold or transferred to any third party.

Grand Prizes: There are five (5) Prizes, two consisting of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00) CAD and one consisting of $500 CAD, payable by cheque. The third prize is one pair (2) tickets to see Usher in concert November 30th, 2014 in Edmonton. The fourth prize consist of a one year lease on a 2014 Toyota Rav4, courtesy of Southpointe Toyota Scion. The winner of this prize will be responsible for providing their own gas and insurance for the vehicle.

 

Secondary Prizes: There are eighty (80) Secondary Prizes, each consisting of an invitation to the Kash & Carry Giveaway event taking place on Tuesday October 28th, 2014 from 7:00-9:00pm MST.  Each eligible Secondary Prize winner will be eligible to receive a handbag from one of the chosen Chinook Centre retailers. The approximate retail value of the items contained in each handbag will range in value from $100 to $1,300 CAD.  Secondary Prize winners who are unable to attend the can pick up their handbag from KooL studios at 222, 58th Ave SW,
Calgary, AB T2H 2S3, during regular business hours on or after Wednesday October 29th, 2014.  The handbags will be available for pick up for 30 days. In order to be awarded a handbag, a Secondary Prize winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question.
